As we all know that the Mumbai Local train 2 by 2 (2x2) compartment is very famous for all these activities.
It is the gents compartment towards CST side or Churchgate side, next to luggage compartment. The entire compartment has 3 doors. But middle door (also called 2 by 2) is one where action takes place during rush hour. Just stand somewhere and start cruising you will surely get someone over there. It is famous compartment for male to male fun. So whenever you travel in Central Suburbs always catch 2x2 compartment and enjoy touching and fun in the crowd.
01. First rule : travel in super peak density time, bet. 8 to 9 in morning. If the crowd is so dense, no one can even notice what's happening in nether regions.
02. No fear of cops, baits or cheats.
03. During non-peak time when there is smaller crowd, eye contact and other signals (like touching your own crotch) may get you someone who might be like minded.

Guys, there are 2 compartments for 2X2. 1 from engine side and another from Guard side. same train will reverse again from last station. Then Guard side will become engine side and vice vesa. So, exactly which 2X2 we should travel? |

SnA, Sometime about 15 years ago, I heard from an old person that the 2x2 is in existence since at least the 70s! Yes, that means it is a hookup or gay cruising point for at least or even more than 55 years!
Now I don't travel by local train anymore but used to till about 15 years ago and have enjoyed quite a lot of encounters in 2x2. Once, sometime in 2015 or so, I had gone to a gay friend's place for a social meet. Quite a lot of gay guys had come and one of the guys must have been in his mid 60s. We were all discussing about gay adventures and how it used to be in the pre-internet era. Just imagine being gay before the internet. There would have been absolutely no avenue to connect or even identify other gay guys. That is why cruising in toilets and other places developed and were so popular.
He told me that he first experienced "fun" in 2x2 sometime in his mid 20s around 1972-73. The local trains used to be very crowded. We didn't discuss how it happened to become the specific compartment and place for hookups. My guess would be that it developed organically. Perhaps 2 guys encountered each other and had fun, made it a regular thing in that specific compartment and slowly others joined in. I would say, it was probably one bold guy who probably dared to initiate it with multiple others in that specific compartment and that probably led to more and more guys seeking him and travelling in that compartment. Slowly, that guy probably faded away but his legacy continues in the form of all the *** things that happen in 2x2.
These days the level of activity has probably decreased because gay hookups has become so easy now. But surely before the internet and days of the mobile phone, it must have been seriously high in levels of activity when you realize that this was probably the only daily avenue for meeting and having fun.
If other old-timers have stories/experiences to share from the old days, it would be lovely to hear them. |

Didn't know of 2×2 when I used locals on a daily basis, circa 2001 to 2004 mostly and subsequently briefly in 2007. All my encounters happened in the first class itself, including my initiation which was serendipitous. The first time it happened I couldn't even see who was fondling me and my d!¢|< responded. The second time it happened I could see the guy, he was my age-both of us in our mid 20s. This opened the floodgates and subsequently I met several guys in train. It was great distraction for 40 minutes of otherwise crowded travel daily. Mostly it was initiated by eye contact, and sometimes it would start right after boarding. Remembering once boarding ist class crowded at bandra, and feeling a tug at my crotch when I had not even settled in. Was fun days, it was relatively safer, ended when I moved to a job which didn't involve train travel, and soon i graduated to owning a car. Look back at those days wistfully. |

On Friday, in a Borivali train around 6.30 to 6.45 PM, met a guy. He was in formals, a brown shirt and trouser. Our eyes met but couldn't do as train as empty. Finally! Felt *** and that to not in 2 x 2. I think that was the added thrill!
Boarded Virar fast from Churchgate 12:34 pm. When getting off saw the bulge of a guy in a mask. He was wearing those stretchable tracks. His *** bulge was SO clearly visible! If I looked more closely I might even had out cut or uncut.

See if you are going from Virar to Churchgate it is the second compartment second door(middle door) from the Churchgate side or Dadar side. From where the loco pilot(train driver) sits.
On your journey back to virar from Dadar it remains the same! except it becomes the second last compartment second(middle door). This time the Loco pilot(train driver) will be on the other side. |

This happened on 19th October 2024, I was boarding a Slow train from Kalyan, I was gonna catch 6:54 am parel slow. I was late and train was already on the platform. I didn't even got the chance to run it 2x2
I boarded the second last compartment from ambernath side. I got a seat and I was reading a book, A uncle was standing in front of me, He accidentally bumped his *** to my hand holding book. Then it happed again and again. The uncle got to sit around dombivali. But We made eye Contact and both stood up on Thane.
