Imperial cinema at Grant Road is a very active cruising place especially during the evening shows in the balcony.
Direction: It is exactly opposite the YMCA on Grant Road, you can ask any taxi driver or passerby. It's easy to find. Either from Grant Road or Charni Road stations
When the lights are off, the shows begin in the seats. Cruise carefully as there can be some straights and homophobes, and always use protection.
All the best, have a good time. You can also cruise in loo of stall. Very nice place.

Thanks for update. Now almost all activities are pre covid is functionally. However, there are certain things which may have gone permanently in covid wave be it few local restaurants and even big brand like Big Bazaar. Seems Imperial is gone forever. If it were to open, it would have by now. |

Super plaza cinema open in grant road the second imperial........it's same like imperial guys....but the ticket rate is not same like imperial....it's 80 or 70rs fir 2 hrs....so go nd enjoy there...it's 1.7km frm grant road stn |

I wud recommend don’t go to super. Outside that theatre there is a big group of biker guys who are also like gundas. Plus there are few mobile and chain snatcher druggies in that lane. If they get to know about such activities they will surely loot u. |

My favourite place. I was made nude on my first visit in the middle of staircase where already many guys were into action. On seeing me nude tops *** bottoms stopped and came close to me and wanted me.
I understood this is the perfect place for me to be . I had a smooth soft and fair body and my *** was just loved by everyone ..
I am into mature men only so the mature married guys got satisfied very well by me. I’ve done it in all parts of the cinema and I even had my favourite regulars who I miss. |

सिनेमा शुरू हुआ और थोड़ी देर बाद एक आदमी टाॅर्च लेकर थियेटर में घूम रहा था.
वह गया और थोड़ी देर बाद एक आदमी आया और एक कोने में बैठ गया।
थोड़ी देर बाद दो आदमी सेक्स कर रहे थे और वह आदमी गया और उसने टाॅर्च वाले के बुला और ऊन को बाहर ले जाकर पीट दिया।
मैं थोड़ी देर हे बाद बाहर गया तो देखा सब कह रहे थे कि हमें थिएटर के अंदर जाकर और बाथरूम भी चेक करना चाहिए।
उन लोगों की गर्लिश बाॅटम खास नजर रहती है

I am telling my experience of Super Plaza.
I went to 9.15 pm show and sat in the stall.
The movie started and after a while a man was walking around the theater with a torch.
He went and after a while a man came and sat in a corner.
After a while the two men were having *** and the man went and called the man with the torch outside and took them outside and beat them.
I went out for a while and everyone was saying that we should go inside and check the bathroom as well.
Those people keep an eye on Girlish Bottom
So go there at your own risk |

Actually someone should take initiative and talk to the management of Imperial cinema and asked them what is the exact reason for not opening the theatre our heavenly place again.
Last time I went there for the same reason but i didn't found any person who is responsible to talk , hence I asked the newly settle one hawker there and as per his update, the management is not having money to run the theatre. |

Yes its closed. We can make other cinema hall a cruising spot which is single screen.
Frankly all this single screen theater were working due to ineffective government policy which in a way has so many restriction on redevelopment of the cinema hall. It was making it practically impossible to redevelop. However some theater did got renovated.
Imperial in all probabilities will be back with new avtaar with complex where shopping plus cinema may be there. But it will never be a cruising spot i guess |

Yes dear @salmandear you are right, there are so many theatres are closed now where gay activity was going on. Like Pinki theatre in Andheri, then Shan theatre in Vile Parle, then another theatre on main road of Grant Road w was already closed. And now this the best place for gay is closed and might not be reopened or renovate. Let's see if they renovate and still the gay activity is going on then it's really very nice. |

Was passing by super plaza yesterdau and even I noticed a gang of bikers as mentioned earlier by group members, so it is likely that any hanky panky might not be tolarated there. So guys be very careful if you wish to go there |

Been following imperial since 2019 when i was new to being lgbtq. Always planned to go there one evening after work but was always scared as this lifestyle was new to me then..now that it is closed i regret not being courageous enough to visit this theater. :( |

I went here two days ago, it's not demolished as mentioned earlier (at least it didn't look demolished to me). I was at Lamington for some work so decided to check out the status here.
The entrances are all closed shut, however I did see lights on inside the management office (the small office below the staircase) and saw one guy walking inside, probably it's the caretaker or watchman. Since I was in a hurry I didn't have a conversation with him regarding the status of the reopening, but it's not demolished as earlier mentioned. |

Imperial you were not just a cinema but a feeling for us...those quite matinees...those screamy evening shows and at last all the gays hugging each other and saying goodbyes thinking that they'll come back tomorrow for the next show..those friendly theatre staffs...those kothis...those panthis...those orgies... probably the best days of our lives that the bombay gay community will miss. I was there today 23 february. The theatre is not demolished. There is a watchman inside and the owner, Mr Abu-Bakr is also roaming around. I tried to go inside, but the owner did not wanted to allow me. As I could understand, the theatre will be broken. |
