Imperial cinema at Grant Road is a very active cruising place especially during the evening shows in the balcony.
Direction: It is exactly opposite the YMCA on Grant Road, you can ask any taxi driver or passerby. It's easy to find. Either from Grant Road or Charni Road stations
When the lights are off, the shows begin in the seats. Cruise carefully as there can be some straights and homophobes, and always use protection.

There are 3 watchmans continously coming n going iside .. balcony area was closed n no tickets were sold for balcony... nothing was happening in washroom either ..

Went to imperial cinema.. date was thirteen july and time was six fortyfive...took a balcony ticket...there was some strange guy at the entrance...he came near me and whispered..'idhar g a a n d faadne aaye ho toh police pakdegi....mere paas room hai aur jawaan ladka hai.....chalo mere saath'....neglected him and headed towards balcony...mostly empty...maybe due to rains....after about twenty minutes crowd strted entering...all labour types....suddenly a man came with a torch and stick in his hand....he strted checking at the back corners...he hit two people and literally dragged them outside...when he was checking at 1 corner I came out and went behind the screen....it was empty...all lights were there....no dark no privacy...hardly anybody in stall.....there was damp smell everywhere...water...mosquitoes....someone had done urine on the seats in the balcony....extrmly dirty place....mind you this is DIRTY not kINKY....might get infection....imidiately i left d place

Went today for 6.45 show and what a disappointment it was. Management has put tubelights all across the ground floor and behind the screen area as well. Only chance of fun was balcony but with people around it becomes risky. Moroever saw an old uncle getting a women in burkha and sat in one of the corner. This is more scarier as the place is becoming a whore house may be.
I agree that it's not right to have unsafe *** at such places but the fact is this theatre is almost running because of gays going there.
If theatre management does not like what is going on, probably we should stop going there. At least for some time.

went to imperial after two months.very sad to see that backscreen is demolished. they are making some small changes like frame on stairs that lead to balcony. the middle stair area where action used to happen is now blocked by keeping stools at entrance.
now its almost impossible to get this place before. |
