Imperial cinema at Grant Road is a very active cruising place especially during the evening shows in the balcony.
Direction: It is exactly opposite the YMCA on Grant Road, you can ask any taxi driver or passerby. It's easy to find. Either from Grant Road or Charni Road stations
When the lights are off, the shows begin in the seats. Cruise carefully as there can be some straights and homophobes, and always use protection.
All the best, have a good time. You can also cruise in loo of stall. Very nice place.

@privajhung bro, when I said we can pay per person I meant the amount of ticket that we used to purchase to get entry into this place. I never meant to pay the management any extra amount for the same. The last time I remember the prices were ₹45 for balcony and ₹35 for stall (I may be wrong but it was a long time ago and I may not recall the exact amount correctly). |

There are less chances that this theatre will open. All the nearby theatres including the Bhojpuri is shut. Palace talkies at byculla east is shut down permanently and they have put a notice. Kalpana talkies at kurla is shut down and they replaced their theatre with a marriage hall. With *** being the prime motive of such theatres, there are bare minimum chances that these theatres would wana reopen. Keeping a property vacant in a city like Mumbai is a big loss for them so they would really prefer to either sell or a makeover. |

So with news trickling in about Imperial shutting down permanently, we need to shift base to other known spots around the city. We need to keep the cruising culture alive. I hope to experience the same some day.

There's Amar Cinema and Sharad Cinema near Dukes Company in Govandi which I guess has been closed for a long time before and obviously after the lockdown so no idea what to expect there but if it's open it could be a very viable option to Imperial.
I for one think nothing can beat Imperial in terms of the thrill and excitement as well as the ambience for our community, but we can always try for other places.
I'll be travelling to this place on Monday, I'll enquire and let everybody know about it's situation then. Until that time, let's keep posting our options and also pray Imperial doesn't close and revives again by some miracle. |

Sad to see the era of Imperial coming to an end here. I've had some super exciting experience here and no other place can match the fun that this place provided.

Anyway guys it was in such bad condition, especially in the stalls, that a transformation was inevitable. But I can't believe that it will be totally destroyed, because there are some valuable heritage parts, like the elephants, the staircase or the sculptures of the first floor. Is it possible that it may remain a movie theatre ? It was so crowded, the owners made a lot of money. |

Guys I understand imperial has had great memories for most of you. I have been there too. But we all knew one day it was going to come to an end. Like look at the condition. Now what is more important is, we explore other theatres if it got potential. It wasn't the theatre but people like all of you who made imperial the best cruising place. Then why not move on and see other theatres. Vinayak ain't gaining the light due to it's crowd and hygine but there are a lot many theatres and video parlours in the city. None is them is suitable for us? Let's check and update so that people keep coming and having fun. |

Guys update on Imperial the theatre. Had been there, spoke to the watchman. He says the theatre will open after diwali. Currently renovation work is going on. Lets hope the theatre opens shortly.

Best place lile imperial is now vinayak video parlour which is in sakinaka its a small imperial u can hve fun there .... Yeah but the place is small and the action happens on last bench they put *** movies taking 30rs hr.. u can go in evening time after 7 u will get nive crowd but only on weekends u can enjoy on weekdays only labour class and oldies comes.... On my experience with vinayak and few other cruising spots, I am very sad that this place had to close. Nothing could beat imperial. The freedom of space, choice, crowd, imperial will always be the most comfortable cruising spot but sadly it's now a past. It's really sad we all couldn't find any other place equivalent to imperial. Thanks to you guys to make this a great experience. |

It's still possible after renovation right? Any update on said renovation? Only issue is if they install CCTV tbh. And pig pe lip stick lagaya toh bhi pig vohi hi hai. Imperial ko kitna bhi renovate karlo PVR cinema jaisa thodi na hone wala hai :p. Crowd will be the same anyway unless ticket price is drastically increased which I doubt |
