I had many romantic moments with my ex. it didn’t last forever but I will always cherish those memories. I keep the hope that I will soon have many such beautiful moments again — this time with the right person.
For me, the most romantic time was when he got a job in Gurgaon and we lived together for a few weeks. Just living under the same roof, cooking together, cleaning the house, watching TV — these simple things felt so romantic.
I used to wake up an hour later than him. He would sit beside me and wake me very gently. No one has ever woken me up so softly. Others usually tap or shout, but he would first run his hand over my head and forehead and quietly say, “Utho na…”
Then we would cook breakfast and lunch together — he made the sabzi, I made chapatis, or the other way around. While he got ready, I packed his tiffin and always left a small handwritten note inside. We kissed goodbye before he left for office. I worked from home, and in the evening I would plan and start preparing dinner so it was ready when he came back.
At night we did the dishes and laundry together, then watched TV.
I feel forever grateful for those moments. It’s okay that we are not together anymore. Maybe it was meant to be short and sweet, like a jasmine flower that blooms beautifully for a little while and then fades. There is nothing unfortunate about it — it just had its own small life.
And there is always hope. I am not in a rush, but I do hope to meet someone who will be my permanent partner and share many more such simple, loving days with me. |
