I am sharing this incident not for sympathy, but to warn and protect others.
A few days ago, I was contacted on a dating app by a guy claiming to be around 22 years old. He spoke politely and confidently and asked me to meet near Powai Lake, saying he had access to a safe private room. Everything sounded normal and trustworthy at first.
Instead of any room, he took me to a jungle-type park area near Powai Lake. Once there, we were alone and things progressed. Suddenly, 6 to 7 other boys, all aged around 22 to 24, appeared from different directions.
At that moment, I realized it was a planned trap.
The person who contacted me through the app was part of the gang. They started abusing me verbally, then physically assaulted me. They beat me badly and robbed me of my belongings. Their behavior was extremely aggressive and ruthless. Honestly, had help not arrived, the situation could have turned fatal.
By sheer luck, some people were passing nearby, heard my cries for help, and rushed towards us. Seeing them, the attackers fled the spot immediately.
Because of this timely intervention, my life was saved.
I am a lawyer by profession, and I immediately took legal action. An FIR has been registered. With the help of law enforcement, the accused have been identified, charged, and detained. I am personally monitoring this case, and I will ensure that justice is delivered and strict punishment is imposed.
I am sharing this to say:
🔴 Please do not blindly trust strangers on dating apps
🔴 Never agree to isolated locations, parks, or “secret rooms”
🔴 Always meet in public places first
🔴 Share your live location with someone you trust
🔴 If something feels off, leave immediately
There are organized gangs actively using apps to trap, assault, and loot people. This is real. This is happening.
Stay alert. Stay safe.
And if something like this happens to you — SPEAK UP. Law is on your side.
Awareness can save lives.
