Ambedkar cricket Ground - Kelambakkam
This place is super close for the Padur/ Kelambakkam circle. It's a huge ground surrounded by a small water body, back waters, a government vet hospital and some really spooky, not so well lit roads.
Is this safe, YES. Mostly you'll see locals here at night, drinking in the weekend (no trouble at all), cis het people making out and some here for ??
Park your bike/ car on the other side of the road, where there is a tea shop and head here or on the marsh land sides.
Difficult for anyone to notice from the main road, as it's not well lit. Not really a comfortable place to have a full blown, but can meet, have a deag, talk to strangers and if you don't have place, can have a quickie too.
The locals know why you're here and no one bothers. Been here in this area for 7 years on and .. Never have I sensed any trouble.
Police patrol is here only after 10.30 ish on weekends and 9 ish on weekdays.

This is about 3 weeks ago...
I was back at NK Palayam ground after a week, but the vibe was totally dry. Aside from one guy who clearly wasn't looking for anything serious, there wasn't much going on.
I ended up driving over to Ambedkar Ground and pulled up the app while hanging out in the car. After exchanging a few texts, I finally set up a meet with someone near the far end of the lot.
The spot was lowkey alive, and a few guys were drinking on either side, and a cis-het couple was making out on a bike.
We parked further down to get some space and hit it off right away, chatting about the local community, movies, and what we were both into.
Eventually, we headed back to my apartment and spent a really good hour or so together. Afterwards, I dropped him off at the Kelambakkam bus terminal, grabbed a quick cup of chai, and headed home.
All in all, a solid evening. |

True. I was there last Sunday. Place is open and there were couple of cabs. Could see people sitting, watching phone or speaking in the corners. Once it becomes dark, few more bikes arrived and possibly drunkards. Doesn’t look like any action is happening and not a safe place too after dark. |
