Visitors & Locals Coordination Thread
I noticed that quite a few members here travel to Kolkata for work, stay in hotels for a few days, or visit the city regularly, while others are local residents.
Thought it might be useful to have a thread where visitors and locals can connect, introduce themselves, and coordinate meetups for coffee, conversation, sightseeing, hanging out, or simply getting to know like-minded people.
If you're visiting Kolkata, mention:
When you'll be in town
Which area you'll be staying in
How long you'll be around
If you're local, mention:
Which part of the city you're from
When you're usually free
What kind of connections you're looking for
I'm based in Hyderabad and visit Kolkata regularly for work, usually staying around Newtown. It would be great to connect with genuine, friendly people before a trip rather than trying to arrange everything at the last minute.
Let's see how many visitors and locals we have here and help each other coordinate meetups.

I'll be in Kolkata next week and will be staying at The Westin for a couple of days.
Looking forward to meeting some genuine, friendly people while I'm in town. Whether it's coffee, a meal, a walk, good conversation, sightseeing, or simply spending some enjoyable time together - even better if you are staying at the sasme hotel.
If you'll be around Newtown, Salt Lake, or nearby areas, feel free to introduce yourself and share a little about what kind of connection you're looking for. Always nice to know who's around before a trip.

I liked to inform u,dat Newtown rajarhat ,both the place is not centrally located area.
Esplanade,park circus, sealdah,these 3places is well connected by metro,so u can connect more people.
Vvi,if u calling any local guys at ur hotel room,plz tell him to carry a id card, otherwise hotel authority will not allow inside room |

1) sealdah,
Now sealdah area is currently most popular centraly located,well connected all metro rail and local train.
2) which is centrally located area in Kolkata?
Park circus, sealdah, esplanade, Park street (,though I am not staying there)
Friends,when u roam to another city ,must find in Google, where is centrally located area
Vvi, Newtown and rajarhat, little outskirts of cities
And remember, airport is always far from city in all over world.
My request to all Kolkata friends,don't miss guide anyone those are from others cuties. |
