Though a gay bar in Pune would be a real Godsend, it will only be an icing on the cake for those who are against "US" in the first place. Imagine police paying visits time and time again for their "hafta" ( check out articles regarding police raiding spas) even people posing as police and extorting money from bar/spa owners. What are the odds that goons will also do the same thing. blackmailing, threatening the staff to shut down the bar.
With all the negative possibilities.... How will anyone hangout in peace? Be in their own "safe" zone for once.
Such degraded, ignorant people still, to this day commit hate crimes.
Though some bars in Pune do allow gay parties, That's the only supposed silver lining. But a proper gay bar.....? Think about it.
It would take a pretty strong, gutsy bar owner to handle any situation. And yes.... Having underground connections too. So that, should anything go wrong, he'll know what to do and who to call.
Else.... Best to organise parties/ get-togethers or whatever in total privacy, without being judged, without hateful eyes upon anyone. |
