It helps to open up, get rid of awkwardness and calm your nerves; while drinking, the chit chat helps to understand each other better, which helps to make a better connection. My suggestion is to not drink too much, so that you get drunk and can not do anything later. Better to drink in a limit so that both get little tipsy and get into the perfect mood. I usually have 3-4pegs together while meeting any bot, it definitely helps both.
