Mubarak Shah, the son of Alauddin Khilji (in the early 1300s). He had homosexual relations with his step brothers (same mother, different fathers) Hasan and Husamuddin. They were initially captured as slaves to Delhi but they were Mubarak Shah's gay parnters. One of them, Husamuddin was also appointed governor of Gujarat sometime later.
There was another man named Baburi, who was captured as a slave of the first Mughal Emperor Babur. Babur did not keep his homosexual relationship secret unlike most emperors throughout history. Baburi was mentioned in Babur's historical biography, Babur Nama. "Occasionally Baburi came to me, but I was so bashful that I could not look him in the face, much less converse freely with him. In my excitement and agitation I could not thank him for coming, much less complain of his leaving. Who could bear to demand the ceremonies of fealty?"
The British and Portuguese also criminalized homosexuality in their colonies. Interestingly, the French decriminalized homosexuality in Pondicherry around 1791. These are some examples in medieval and modern history. Ancient India was a lot more. I couldn't find much about homosexual history in Ancient India other than it being ok in society and some temples having such depictions. |

As per Journal of Pakistan Medical Association (10), at 17 years of age Babur developed homosexual tendencies and started to love a boy in Urdu Bazar. Throughout his autobiography, he never mentions even a remote form of infatuation, leave alone love for any woman. Not even for his own wife. |

Homosexuality is not just for humans even major animals like lions tigers , deers , bears , dogs cats also penguins n sea horse's n fishes has been found n they r all comfortable n don't outcasts or have phobias on gay fellows. Majorly in Bharat gay *** or concubines wer not an issue at all even lesbian or trans people wer termed as taboo ...only when Christians n Mughal invasion happened gays n lesbian wer illiteratedly treated...or else world would have been different....there are tons of text as proofs of history in Roman , Greek and ottoman turks wer so very much ok with Gays n trans ... ultimate was *** was as passion for enjoying... regardless action of Husband and wife remained official but other than that was never an issue as much as now homophobic situation created in last 1100 years atleast in India ....sad but now only few in city get option to be themselves rest are in closet...fun is imagine life without social media and internet lives of Gays n trans or lesbian s would have still been in hell ... however thanks to technology atleast we can be open in some platforms.... question of being gay may have been since early times both religious and scientifically as it's not desease like COVID created in lab but a choice of sexuality which exists from origin of Ameoba..... |

There are speculations about Leonardo Da Vinci being homosexual. He had to face some serious consequences since sodomy was considered a serious offence against religious beliefs. |

Homosex has been depicted at few major temples in India , so homosexuality had been prevalent leave few hundred years back but atleast a thousand years. I don't want to mention the name of temples to allow people to demean temples . The info I share is nothing but what I have seen . Temple is place of worship where people come to pray for their well being and to my known understanding well being includes ***. So for human race expansion *** is major part and I feel all temples stand to explain and improve human morale and well being . |

@Biases, Shikandi from MB was trans or eunuch as we say. Gay characters are found plenty but over a period these were hidden or twisted to suit ones needs. This applies to all religions of the world. Kings and emperors of the bygone eras or even Bollywood actors today still shy away the moment the G word is mentioned.. The policy is - Don't ask, Don't tell! |

There are archeological evidences that suggest that stone age cavemen enjoyed homesexual *** a lot. There are cave paintings depicting men performing gay sexual acts on each other. If you think about it then it makes sense. 10 thousand years ago humans had no source of entertainment other than ***. Their lives revolved around hunting, gathering and surviving. I strongly believe that *** was used as a currency in stone age. I think *** was used as a non lethal weapon of asserting dominance over inferior or weaker members of the tribe as well. If a strong alpha male wanted to pleasure his *** and women weren't readily available he could have used weaker men as *** toys. No weaker man could have risked getting killed during stone age. Refusing to let a stronger man *** your *** during stone age might have meant the stronger man beating you killing you, cannibalising you or simply kicking you out of the tribe for daring to deny him access.
I think gay *** was performed both recreationally between members of same tribe as a gesture of trust and bonding exercise and also as a means to show weaker men their place. |

Most of the kings and emperors from the middle east and India had harems of women and men that were guarded by eunuchs. It was the kings pleasure who he wanted for the time, night or day to satisfy him. Usually a woman was for the night at leasure and a man during the day for a quicky. Just a quick bj or *** *** and move on. How I wish those times were still around. |

Great read and responses guys. Ntm homosexuality being made illegal in India through law because of the British Empire. Kinda feel had it not been treated as an illegal taboo for years thing would have been much easier for us. Tho times are already much better than compared to 2015. |

There are alot references in hindu scriptures on homosexuality.. some are: 1. the vedic demigods mitra and varuna.. both are inseparable in any reference in vedad 2. mohini - the most beautiful women in this universe and an avatar of lord vishnu.. when vishnu in this form mated with shiva.. ayappa was born 3. Shikandi - originally born as a girl child for king drupada but raised as a boy.. she was then married to princess of dasahrna. to satisfy the sexual needs of the princess shikandi transformed her sexuality to man with the help of a yaksha.. this is the first transgender depiction in hinduism 4. Brihanala - when arjuna once visits swargaloka gets a love proposal from urvashi.. but he rejects the proposal thiking she was equalent to her mother.. angry urvashi curses arjuna to become an eunuch.. arjuna while in panadavas 1year exile period uses this curse and tranforms himself into eunuch with the name bruhanala and hides in kingdom of virata etc.. etc... |

Sad to see that people still consider being gay as being enunch or transgender... Whereas topic discuss about homosexuality i.e love between two men as men.. not being one as enunch or transgender or in female avtar..
