Gay life in kolkata during 80s and 90s era
Hii i know this is little off topic but as many elder members are available in this platform i have a curiosity of what was going on at the times of 80s and 90s ? Were the cruising places were active that time and what was the life of a gay person..also share your experiences/ encounters or any insights.

I think gay life in Kolkata during 80s was not so rampant. The gay contacts started with advent with chat rooms made available by the advent of internet specially yahoo chat rooms. In Kolkata , gay activities were limited to Babughat only and to some extent in the maidan. |

there is only cruising places
like dhakuria lake or southern ave lake
famouse loo opposite metro cinema hall(it was a huge action places from early morning to till close)
kurgon park
zigjack toilet
that time people approach others ,whats d time now
i think dat time gay or bisex people are more powerfull or creative bcoz they uses eye contact and six senses.
no internet no grinder no mobile phone but people are more social dan today ,bcoz nowadays so many money snachers black mailer stealing mobile murders etc etc |

In 80s and 90s life in our city of joy was truly unimaginable.....many gay joints like kurzon park, south kolkata lakes, Dharmtalla, loo opposite Metro cinema hall, New Empire, loos at wellington, minto park, park circus, justice chandra madhav street, ballygunge station, etc...were like heaven...no cheaters, no gay thrashing mobs ....infact cops used to come regularly to relieve themselves.... Had so many encounters back then....How I miss those glory days....
