Hi Guys, I know it's a serious blow at our faces. How much ever safe *** you practice, we cannot deny that we are vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases when compared to others. It's an undeniable fact, most of us May not even be aware of our health risks unless it becomes a matter of serious concern at an advanced stage. Just wanted to know how many of us have already taken HIV tests at one point or other in sense of fear. Have u ever thought of taking one n was afraid or something prevented u from taking?
What if the result came positive or negative, Have you thought about it.
I hope everyone could take part in posting their views regarding this thread. I don't mean to freak you guys out but always discuss things with all our best interests.

Regardless of me practicing safe *** n choosy about my partners, I have done hiv testing frequently to be aware of my status and also not to infect any other person if I ever got infected. Though initially out of fear I would pick a lab far away from my place n give a false name but now I don't have that fear. I use my own name n get tested. Always it's better to be informed n face your fears than running away from it |

i got hiv and other STD tests done afer my first sexual encounter.. purely coz of fear of first time.... then i relaxed....yes. health is of prime concern... we shdnot give away our life for 2 mins of bliss.... via oral, chances of HIV is almost nil. but other STDS have very good chance of spread. out of them, many r totally curable but HERPES ha no cure.. we have nly anti viral to supress it but stays with us throughout the life |

@fun guy, Thanks for sharing you opinion. True once we get infected with herpes it stays with us forever n we end infecting our spouses (if married). Even though any other std is curable when diagnosed early, still we got every chance of infecting our partners and also passing on to others as well. It is not the point of something curable or not. How do one know whether they are infected or not? How do someone deal with it. |

the HIV test is fearful anf dreadful. I took it recently and I was shaking myself till evening till i got thr result I opened the test results inside a temple. All my burden suddenly went off after it was nonreactive. Felt happy and responsive.. Guys having active *** life should get tested for hiv herpes and warts so as to protect themself and protect others from getting infected |

Yes...The anxity of thinking about hiv itself will give you symptoms like fever, headache etc... Two weeks back, i had a massage. At the end i had a long smooch with the therapist for about 10 mins. Didnt proceed further as the time is up. But my lips were little swelled. After coming home i had a fear of getting infected with some virus. The next day i had a mild sore throat. It was literally very mild. No pain or cough. But my mind linked that with hiv. The following days were really hell for me. I couldnt concentrate on anything and could nt enjoy any moments. I thought of getting tested. But in a doctors forum, i read that hiv will not spread by deep kissing, even if one has sores or cuts in ***. So i m bit relaxed now. Any suggestion or uour views guys |

Thanks guys for the post I'm happy that you are aware of the consequences n tests too. Don't completely research your doubts on internet where most of the information is either underrated or exaggerated. Being in the medical profession I would love to spread sexual health awareness. @Rahulsam, I don't mean to freak you out. Though the chances are less for HIV transmission thro deep kissing despite of lesions, cuts in ones ***. It still doesn't say that u can't contract the infection. It just says the risk is less n not no risk. So after I learnt all this I have been cautious enough. Sore throat after oral *** or deep kissing is sometimes common, only thing I advice is don't come home n brush vigorously after oral *** or kissing. It increases ur risk to more infections not just HIV. Always best advice is be careful as we don't really know who is infected or not, it doesn't really mean a well groomed n educated guy might not be infected or a poor hygiene guy will definitely be infected. Being in public health field I have seen many infected guys who look just very Normal like any one of us. So pls be careful. If you feel you have been exposed always take a counselling n start using Anti HIV drugs for short period prescribed by your doctor for accidental exposure. It's a cocktail of fast acting drugs that should be taken within 24-48 hours of exposure |

Deep kissing doesnot spread HIV but spreads herpes another viral STD. Now a days a lot of people are having infection in their lips. Watch out of lips. Any cuts wounds just walk away.. most of the time infection in upper or lower lips with lesions grouped together is a definite herpes infection. Dont even kiss. I have seen many people with active herpes on their lips.. |

For HIV testing, Three week is a definite period for a 95 percent chance of getting the antibody and 4 weeks are a 99 percent chance and three months are a 100 percent.
Atleast 21 days is necessar for the hiv antibody to be detected by the ELISA tests. If you think u r infected dont waste time in getting the test becoz there is a greater chance that you may not be infected. Atleast it helps to cool your mind off otherwise any sympyom that you may get you will start relating it with a hiv symptom. Get tested right away and have a peace of mind. Chances of getting infection is small.
Oral *** - less than 0.5 per ; tops dont contract; its bottom thats usually the victim *** *** - 3 per again only when you dont put condom. Kissing - less than 0.1 per unless you have a big deep wound

I am a software engineer. I never indulged in *** ***. So I hope myself safe. But I enjoyed blow jobs. I also given blow jobs to people who are neat clean and healthy. I also given deep kisses to my partners. After ... I take neem leaves as bacteria killers. In labs they use a small device which costs 1500 to 3000. But that will not predict the correct result.
I believe more on exercises which improves antibodies and neem leaves. In worst case I believe Ayurvedic medicines. If I like to *** someone I will definitely buy condoms. |

I would like to add a different perspective to this discussion as well..its not just about HIV or any STD alone.. .each person carries a certain subtler energy field called aura around his body..that aura to a good extent determines the core components of a person's life like his health, destiny, his luck etc..when a person regularly copulates with someone with deep negative aura, that negativity will rub on to him as well bringing in ill health, misfortunes and other forms of negativities in life & the vice versa could happen as well...however these things are not overtly palpable..only when they are very subtly observed they could be perceived.. |
|
No Picture 263363 | Posted On Feb 18, 2018
@Mahesh80, thank you for stating your view n perspective. Yes I do agree about aura and energy vibrations in every individual and how it can impact on each other and with that of our surroundings. I think that is the reason why our ancestors have created rituals and ceremonies to safe guard ones aura or the inner energy and energy covering our bodies. Even *** was considered to be a ritual with meaning. Thatswhy out of marriage *** was condemned in the society, though strays were there which suffered as u mentioned. Really a different perspective thanks again for your contribution. I'm glad people can make best use of such threads n posts to express themselves n take home good valid information so it can be not everything about *** alone. |

Not to spoilsport in testing and safe *** talk. But does anyone here has experience with PreP. Is it available in india? In case you are in unprotected *** scenario i have heard it reduces chances of HiV spread... |
|
No Picture 263363 | Posted On Feb 19, 2018
@John Adams, yes 100% Prep kits are available in India. It is available in the HIV centres in Chennai too like Govt hospitals, YRG, VHS, Naco etc. They give initial counselling to reduce their anxiety issues and give them either free of cost in government institutions or at subsidy in voluntary organizations. @funguy, no It was just an information shared, if it was one to one *** why would any of us be even here. As u said yes it's to discuss about safe *** n risks involved when we don't know out partners health risks n risk behaviour. What we see or hear from the partner might not be 100% true. There is no physical symptom to know if someone is a carrier of HIV especially in early stages. They can be potentially infective either with or without their knowledge. |
|

Any idea abt brand and cost of PreP kits? |
|
No Picture 263363 | Posted On Feb 20, 2018
Prepkit is a cocktail of antiretrovirals, I don't know the combination. It's not available in all regular pharmacies. So only possibility is get from counselling n hiv testing centres. I think it is around 600 -800 Rs for full course. |

Actually I received many messages regarding this treatment. It is called PEP which means Post exposure prophylaxis. This has to be taken by anyone who fear they might have been exposed to HIV within 72 hours after the exposure. Usually earlier they take is better. Any PEP taken after 72 hours is proved to be not effective. This anti retroviral cocktail should be taken everyday for exactly four weeks without fail at exact same timings everyday. After which they should take HIV tests at three intervals as specified by Dr. So I think this is valuable information for those who do not know about it. One most important thing is this doesn't cure HIV but reduces your risk to contract HIV after an exposure n even possibility prevent the infection. |
|
No Picture raja bot | Posted On Feb 21, 2018
Prep and pep pre exposure prophylaxis and post exposure prophylaxis. This treatment as the name says anti virlas are taken before contracting the virus and the latter is taken within hours after post exposure. This is generally for the medical professionals who work closely with patients and those people who do surgeries and have high latency of getting pricked by those needles and instruments used. Having said its not 100percent effective and still has chamces of infection. But if you think the last *** could have possibly infected you, ot in a doubt one can take post exposure medicines to reduce the chances of getting infected |

It is easy and cheap to get tested for HIV. Just go to any hospital and tell them you want to get tested for HIV 1&2. It's called a tri dot test and gives accurate results. It's better to get tested once every 6 months. And finally needless to say, prevention is better than cure. |

Had my HIV test done just few days back. Though I have taken test previously before a year during my surgery and before marriage with a doctor's prescription, this time I just walked in to a lab and told them openly I wanna get tested for HIV(1&2). They asked if I had a doctor's prescription and I said no.They asked me to sign a self declaration form and later took my sample.
Rapid screening is a quick process where we can get results quickly within hours but I chose the lengthier ELISA method for better confirmation. It took me day for the results to come in. Happy I was non-reactive. Though I always practice safe *** but the waiting time period of one day was indeed horrible.
The test costed โน560. I did it in a renowned diagnostic lab chain. Anybody into hardcore gay *** please get yourself tested once in six months.

I have done my HIV and STI test today at YRG care hospital. Doctors/counselors are very friendly, you wont even feel like you are in hospital. Morning I went and explained my fear and doubts and then they responded immediately. They wont even ask your name and number if you dont want to tell, not even at the bill counter. You dont have to say about your m2m or m2f relations, everything they consider as CONTACT. They only will ask you when was your last contact. Thats it. I got my results by evening and came out happily from that campus. I hope all the members take this test as soon as possible and be happy. The charges for test are around 250 rupees only.

I have done it few years ago. Report was clean :)
But i want to check one again now. You can go to any scan/blood test centers and ask for it. There is a space for "prescribed by" where you're expected to fill the doctor's name but at the same time you're free to write รถn self interest. |

Guys... Whoever looking for HIV test and have get to do the same, it is simple now. There is a website called DoctorC. Call them and tell you want to do a HIV test. They will ask for the test type like rapid or Elisa. You can choose any of that and both costs more or less same. You can also tell your location preference. They will suggest few labs from which you can choose. They ask your name , contact no and email id. No problem if you give your original name also. They won't contact you thereafter. They will book the appointment with the lab and send you SMS and email. Mostly there will be 50rs discount. It will cost around 450 |

Jst curious here... I want to know how we will know if we have contacted aids or other sexual diseases?? (I'm sorry if i have asked a stupid question ๐) |
|
No Picture Guru005 | Posted On Jan 19, 2019
Not at all a stupid question. Aids is caused by hiv Virus. Aids is abbreviated from Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. The immunity of the healthy individual is broken down by the virus. When immuniity is broken, it will lead to prolonged illness. Which means even your regular cough and cold won't cure and will take several months to recover as the immunity power has become low in one's body. Hope this clarifies. Thank you. |

HIV+ and AIDS are different. Not all HIV+ leads to AIDS provided he/she gets appropriate treatment. HIV+ person should be inaccurate lifelong medication through which he can keep control of his viral load. Only untreated condition develops as the disease AIDS.
Its possible that someone will never no if he is HIV + for even around 10 years. That's why it is highly recommended to do a HIV test if you have an unsafe encounter. Other STDs will show symptoms within a month mostly through rashes, flu like symptoms etc...
Recently there is a case where a pregnant women received HIV + blood coz of carelessness of the hospital employees. The donor of the blood didn't know that he is hiv+ at the time he donated. After some months only he came to know that and alerted the blood bank where he donated. But Thier carelessness made one pregnant women hiv+. You know what, due to guilt the donor commited suicide.
I am quoting this because hiv+ may not have any symptoms at all. It's individuals responsibility to play safe. |

Is it ok to do a testing once in 2 years? |
|
No Picture Rehann13 | Posted On Jan 19, 2019
Many gay men in India do not do HIV testing regularly. It is advised to do HIV testing atleast once in a year, if you are engaging with multiple partners.
There is a stigma attached to HIV testing in India. While in UK, the government hospitals or NHS, encourage gay men to test HIV and other STDs every year.
If you want to test for HIV, please follow the steps below.
1. Search for any nearby Diagnostics labs that do the HIV testing. Just 'Google' 'HIV testing near me'.
2. Call the Diagnostics lab and book an appointment or directly walk-in.
3. In Reception, tell that you came for HIV testing. They may ask the doctor reference. Say that it's a 'Self' test.
4. It costs Rs. 400 to 500 (according to Lab) for HIV testing. HIV-1 & 2 are tested usually.
5. Give the blood sample to the laboratory physician and walk away.
6. Collect the result after 4 to 5 hours. Check with the lab how long does it take for results to be out and printed. Collect accordingly.
