Hi, my name is Alex. I am a pretty relaxed guy. I don't believe in working yourself to death, but rather finding a good balance between work and play. I work hard, but I also take the time to enjoy myself- no point in waiting until you're retired (you might not live that long!). I love going out in the sun, whether it's canoeing or swimming or just laying on the beach. I'm interested in most anything, just for the sake of knowing...stuff. Wikipedia is my worst enemy because I could spend all day on it. I love music and theater, and so it isn't a big leap that I love musicals as well, but I'm also interested in science, technology, space exploration, sci-fi, that sort of stuff. I also love film, and while I'm not as big a buff as some, I love movies from all eras and love things like camerawork and direction, not just plot.

I can be shy, but as soon as I get to know someone or get comfortable in a group, I'm very outgoing. I also don't necessarily share all of my feelings or everything about me right away. There's a lot going on in this crazy head of mine. :)

I try to take opportunities as they come. I lived in Germany for 3 months. Got to travel while I was there but I have so much more to see. The world is an open book, waiting to be read and perhaps edited. I want to live my life, and I want to find someone who will live it with me. Someone who will be spontaneous and who saves the word "no" for when it's absolutely necessary. I adore reasonable people, and anyone who can admit they're wrong in the face of new evidence. The pursuit of truth is more important than the pursuit of ego.

I like to meet new, interesting people. Sometimes it takes a minute to get a conversation going, but I'm sure we can find something to talk about!
