No. Because LGBQ people sit in their homes and type on social media about this issue. NO one wants to take action. There is not going to be any magic that the government one day will suddenly abolish it. We have to fight for our rights.

It is very easy to type and expect free freedom. And if our government is not granting it, we deserve it, because we are too selfish to fight for our rights.

As long as Indian LGBT people will let themselves be treated like *** by the cops and the system, things will never change. But it's your country, guys, and for you to decide when you're tired of it.
A couple days ago, I saw a guy who got busted by 2 cops in the Kamla Nehru Bridge paris (I had got out of the woods just one minute before...) : don't tell me that cops have nothing else to do than roam in the woods to bother people who don't bother anyone ! But it's a much better deal for them to complete their meager earnings with gay racket. I feel like if I stayed too long in India I could very much kill one (or 2) of them out of sheer anger... That probably would put the issue forward in the media, but no thanks, I'll restrain myself.

I disagree mr letsfuck. Indian Lgbt ppl are just *** hungry beasts
They just want quick fun without caring abt giving back. All lust n no self esteem.

That is why str8 homophobic ppl think lgbt is all about just ***.

Gay n bisexuals in India is all about *** ...99% people are *** seekers only...it is like *** n forget . In all gay dating site people talk about *** only, the very first question, are u top bottom versatile ? If it becomes legal in India ,people will start having *** on roads without any hesitation

Harry the reason for this is Sosciety taboo. They have no option but to *** and forget. If two guys start showing more interest in each other either they are bullied or cast off or abused. I had love affair with 4 guys but it did not last long as other boys parents married them off. We were so much in love. Also parents want life partner for their sons so that they are not left alone in old age. So in India gay and bisexuals do get married but continue gay *** and forget. They have no option. Don't insult LGBT community calling it only sexual thing. I am still with a married guy

@harry
The only way to test validity of ur statement is to first abolish oppresive law n see what happens.

Even if your partner gets married to a girl , still you can have a relationship with him if you both truly loved each other....when a married guy can *** a guy in secure n secret place , why can't he have a secret n secure relationship after marriage as well...

I agree. Even some supporters are supporting to have their names famed. Indian society is too complex for outsiders yo understand why married men need relationship with a guy.

Mine was not hypocritical. All others are really hateful though. I don't like people saying its sexual. Straight relations are also sexual but the thing is they are accepted socially. *** is a prime need same as hunger.

"Gay n bisexuals in India is all about *** .."
Harry, have you ever thought that if people had the opportunity to openly share more than ***, be able to build a relationship supported by society, they would choose that over only *** ?
I've known my country long before it offered the possibility of same-*** marriages. Homosexuality then was only about *** in parks and toilets. Then, in 1981, there were the first openly gay bars and pubs, and people started having a bit of more of a social life. Now, we can get married, and there are lots of couples who get married, and it's not about *** only.
India can have the same path if it chooses to have it. Of course that means fighting, that means lobbying, that means electing the politicians and parties that will defend your cause, that means taking the risks to be more open about one's sexuality in society, so that people will finally understand that we are just like them, with the same desires, the same hunger for love and recognition...
We too had to fight "traditional" values, religious bigotry, but we were one step ahead of you, as we have set, as soon as 1905 a law separating the church (and religion in general) from the State.

@hary
That is the point of ebubu. When there is no such law as 377, ppl will come out n hv talk freely about their relationship n feelings. No more urinal hukeups no need to be hideous

The main cause for this is not 377 or ***, the main cause is the taboo of Indian society, we people refrain from talking about *** and its urges. You guys tell me, how many of you had an open talk about *** and sexuality with family...did the family ever sit together and discuss about ***, its advantages and disadvantages! The answer for this is NO! If we don't talk about things which are natural, then forget LGBTQ people will even have sexual problems and not discuss about it! The thing is we must first talk openly about natural things and then explore LGBTQ.

Its free forum. Free to discuss thing.

But it seems many ppl like crazy cruiser n hary etc are against the idea of FREEDOM FOR LGBT. Such pathetic hypocites losers.

Unless and until LGBTQ society member themself think its bad to suffer in closet and pretending str8 on dinner table is something hypocrytic, nothing is going to change.

I thank mr. EBUBU Who is the most educated person in this thread and understand well the importance of topic. It seems indian people need more education, lesser hypocrisy.

Get yourself some guts like french did, american did. Its not about patriotism.

Depends on what your definition of serious relationship is... Me and bf have been together ... Living together for 8 years... know of couples who have been living longer... With our families and friends knowing.... We are in a committed relationship that is open.... Seeking *** is not a taboo... One doesn't stay in a relationship so that one can have ***... One stays in a relationship because there is lot more than *** to sustain it... Till people don't understand that... Continue with the straight construct of getting married is the only legitimate way to have ***... Who will have the time and energy to devote to a relationship?

If you are in relationship, then what are you doing here ? Still seeking ***? If I was in relationship with anyone I would never turn out to any other guy n won't be seen in any such websites n forum ...

Lol guys just chill.
This discussion is only abt the article 377 n freedom to express. I m not being judgemental to any ones *** or relationship life.

Its all abt freedom. There are lots of incident where str8 ppl BULLY lgbt society using 377 and other shames.

I m pointing that n not meant with any thing else.
One point i hate abt lgbt is member themself hate to talk abt freely and act as if very pious n hypocritical. That's the point.

Harry you seem to belong to that category that just does not get open relationships.... who don't think open relationships are made for them... it is fine ... you aren't alone... but for heaven sake do not show off your ignorance and narrow mindedness in an open forum by judging those who don't live by the notions you subscribe to... you are on a pedestal only in your own eyes and eyes of people who live by your standards... It takes a very different level of understanding between two people.... a very honest, transparent and caring existence to still want to be in a relationship when you have so much of choice... many relationships fail to achieve that kind of understanding...

I do not want to sound over optimistic but today's judgement by the supreme court on privacy includes words that gives me great hope.

http://indianexpress.com/article/india/right-to-privacy-judgment-supreme-court-says-sexual-orientation-essential-attribute-of-privacy-and-must-be-protected-4811358/

In today’s judgment, the apex court concluded that privacy includes at its core the preservation of personal intimacies and that sexual orientation is an essential attribute of privacy. The court held that privacy and protection of sexual orientation lie at the core of the fundamental rights under Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution.

So the end to the opressive sec 377 may not be far off!

More Excerpts:

The Supreme Court further held that “discrimination against an individual on the basis of sexual orientation is deeply offensive to the dignity and self-worth of the individual. Equality demands that the sexual orientation of each individual in society must be protected on an even platform. The right to privacy and the protection of sexual orientation lie at the core of the fundamental rights guaranteed by Articles 14, 15 and 21 of the Constitution.”

In a direct reference to the flawed 2013 Supreme Court judgement by Justice Singhvi, the current nine member Supreme Court bench observed:

The right of privacy cannot be denied, even if there is a miniscule fraction of the population which is affected. The majoritarian concept does not apply to Constitutional rights and the Courts are often called up on to take what may be categorized as a non-majoritarian view, in the check and balance of power envisaged under the Constitution of India.

The judgement about Right to Privacy includes strong opinions about the rights of LGBT people. This is a big step and we should be happy that the supreme court of the country ruled very strongly in favor of the community. We should hope that Sec 377 is abolished. The 5 member bench which will take up the 377 case has to consider the Right to Privacy, dignity and Life seriously before ruling. Its only a matter of time.

Yep, the new SC ruling a great news indeed, for the LGBT community, of course, but for all of India. I just don't understand how it took them 63 years to understand there can't be true democracy if there's no fundamental right to privacy.
On the side, it's also a BIG slap in the face of Modi, who'll finally have to understand that he's NOT the only master on board ! (Gosh, how I despise the guy !.....)
Keep crossing fingers, guys, I'm sure freedom is just around the corner.

The day is arriving!

The Supreme Court is likely to begin hearing the curative petition upholding the validity of Section 377 on September 8.
http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-sc-likely-to-hear-sec-377-curative-petition-on-sept-8-2543276

With the SC's observation in the recent privacy judgement I am very optimistic. I hope the SC corrects the grave mistake it did in 2013 while setting aside the repeal of Section 377.
